The Reading Room

The Reading Room is a research preview that answers questions about planning precedent, drawn from the applications, decisions and policy documents in PlanningLedger's archive. It is built for architects and planning consultants working on real schemes.

It does not give legal, viability or structural advice, and it does not predict what will happen to your own scheme. It answers questions about what has already happened elsewhere.

Access is by application. Passes are issued by hand, and each reader gets a handful of invites to pass on.

For example

“What daylight tests do Camden officers apply to rear extensions?”

Every answer comes back in the same shape:

  • Summary
  • Answer
  • Evidence
  • Coverage
  • Not answered
